Charles Messier (1730 - 1817) catalogued 110 diffuse objects that were difficult to distuinguish from comets. Discovering comets was popular amongst astronomers in the 18th century and his list helped comet chasers. In the years 1758 until 1782, Messier created his list of 110 objects. Nowadays, the Messier list is popular amongst amateur astronomers, as the list represents some of the finest objects to observe throughout the year. On this page I collect images I took of the Messier objects.
