News Equipment Observatory Astrophotography Projects About me

Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun. Saturn is best known for its ringsystem.

This is my first image of Saturn taken while Saturn was low in the sky.
date: november 8, 2004
equipment: ETX105, toucam pro 2.
This image was taken under much better circumstances, and with better equipment. Slightly out of focus.

equipment: LX200@f/10, LPI.
This image was taken during the same night as the one above, but this time I overexposed the planet to reveal a few moons.

This image was taken under excellent conditions.

This image was taken through hazy clouds. I had the f/6.3 focal reducer installed, as I was planning to photograph M81/M82, but the conditions made that impossible. Hence I tried Saturn. The clouds made the colours a bit goofy, therefore I shot this image b/w. To increase magnification I also used the 2x Barlow. I could have removed the focal reducer but this worked too.
